The Festival was a great place to be, with a good crowd and some superb films. These ranged from film school students presenting their first ever edit through to seasoned professionals. I had the opportunity to meet Sir Chris Bonington who was one of the first people to climb the 'Old Man of Hoy'. Some of the climbing gear they used on that first ascent was still there! even more surprising is the fact they used wooden wedges! see more of Chris at www.bonington.com
I also met Steph Davis, one of the worlds most accomplished Free Solo climbers. Have a look at www.highinfatuation.com she really has an amazing physical and mental ability to perform those climbs. |
